Because everyone did so much for the folks during Christmas time we decided to treat the residents for New Years. We made huge pots of maize meal and rise and the most amazing tomato and onion sauce with the best "boerewors" (sausage) in town, a true South African braai. It was a cold and rainy day but the warm food made up for the bad weather and we had lots of laughs.
