Hi everyone. We have a huge crisis on our hands. Our Secretary Audry has double pneumonia and has been diagnosed with a Pulmonary Embolism! We took her to the Government hospital Steve Biko and she had to wait there for 9 hours to get a bed. The hospital eventually sent her to Kalafong where she was put in a passage with broken windows and an icy cold blowing on her. They have NO blankets to keep her warm and covered. NO pillows to prop her up. When we complained she was put with patients that have TB!!!! Her drip that she got at Steve Biko was finished this was to keep her blood thin. Not ONE doctor attended to her at Kalafong for 5 hours still waiting for a bed and at 3 this morning we decided that her life was in danger in such conditions. We phoned around for a bed for her at a private hospital and she is seeing the doctor now at Moot Hospital. This girl is a single mommy with a daughter of 4 and a little boy of 2. She does not have a medical aid and her babies need her. PLEASE donate to her hospital expenses we really need your help. Use reff: Audry. Please everyone let us save her she is a hardworking girl. Please HELP. Leighxx
We have also finished the duck pond and planted the poles. Peet and Marius did an amazing job! We will be putting up the fence around the duck enclosure and seal the pond. Then we can make them a shelter and go and get some ducks and food. These ducks will be free range. We are so exited to have our first animals! Cannot wait to hear the sounds of the ducks. Leighxx
Yehhaa! our fence and gates are going up. Peet has been working very hard to get us secured as best as possible. A new driveway will be cleared and we will put up a security house at the gate. We still have to old fence at the back but will clear that away when we put the razor wire on top of the fence. Leighxx
Hi to all my friends. I am looking for a second hand sewing machine. I am busy putting in curtains that has been donated in the houses and need to shorten some of them and doing them by hand has been a nightmare and very time consuming. I am also using material that has been donated to make table cloths etc. If anyone is willing to donate one that they do not use please give me a call on 0727388101. Thank you. xx
Hi everyone. We want to give a huge thank you to James Bruce who made these planter boxes for us. We planted our first tomatoes, onions, beans and green peppers. This father is trying to make extra money to support his family. James you are an example to us all. If anyone wants to order these boxes please let us know and we will forward you his details. Sealing the inside to stop any water, rodants or snakes from coming into the houses. After that we will put boards on the sides insulated with foam. Then the ceilings and paint! Still allot of work to be done and too few hands but we take it day by day. Peet and Marius has been doing an amazing job!
Our third house done! Today we put up the fourth house and then Friday the last one! We are super excited. Thank you everyone for your encouraging messages and comments. I read them out to the men and even though they are tired and sun burnt they it gives them courage to carry on. They will have a well deserved break during the Easter weekend.Leighxx
PLANT A TREE! Hi everyone. We want to ask for sponsorship on some trees. The Farm has only a few indigenous thorn trees but they are far too few. The heat is unbearable. For those in America etc. we have been having up to 100 degree ( 30 - 35 heat daily and we have hardly any shade. We would love to plant more indigenous trees at each house to create some shade. If you want to sponsor a tree please put "Tree" in your donation description. Thank you for everyone's support.
