Hi everyone. UPDATE on the farm: The first 3 weeks of the farm project was tough, first we had blazing heat and then we had heavy rains and winds. We managed to work in between the harsh weather conditions. We put up one house, the men installed a toilet and shower. We also had an amazing donor Pierre who came out and dug the trenches for the pipes. We planted the poles for the water tank and lifted it on top of the stand. We laid the water and sewerage pipes and we are covering the trenches again. The septic tank was lowered into the hole and all the pipes were connected. The land was cleared for our ablution block and the communal kitchen for the families. We are really working very hard and the work is very labor intensive. We had Sunette Goosen who donated funds for a gas fridge freezer and we had Ela and James Bruce who came out in support of the work we do and assisted with pumping water for us. We thank you so much for the gas kettle that you bought 🙂 We need you help 1. Funding - Our funds are very low and we need your support in order to continue the work. The building plans alone are R10 000 and we have to pay and submit the plans in order to get an electricity connection. Being without electricity is hard and we are more vulnerable because we do not have lights at night. The cost of running the generator is high and we try and keep it minimal in order to pump enough water for daily use. Our generator packed up and we were forced to purchase a new one. 2. We need a gate - We are in URGENT need of a 6 meter x 2.2 meter high gate for the farm. A proper sliding steel gate on tracks. If anyone is able to assist us with one we will be very thankful, even if it is a secondhand gate that is still in good condition. 3. ANY building material like cement, poles, wood, tiles, roof sheets and any tools are urgently needed. 4. Any chicken wire and fencing to build camps for the animals. 5. Wooden houses 4x4 meters. 6. Any bricks are also urgently needed. 7. Food - we are in need of food. Any food that you can donate will help us very much. We need to stock up for winter and for the families. Please I ask you to open your hearts and give. Our goal is to rescue families, winter is fast approaching and we want to be as far as we can in order to save at least 2 families by June. We cannot do this without your support. I believe in this so much and know that with you, we can make such a big difference to these folks. Please help us help them. Thank you again for believing in us. Love you all. Leigh Oxley Du Preez - Contact 0727388101 Email - leigh.safrp@gamial.com

Hi all...tonight I come to you with a very sore heart. I have a family who lives in Bloemfontein. I broke down in tears when I went to do home assessment. There's a lady and her husband..he is disabled but works as a car gaurd . They also have the ladies sister and her daughter living with them...at the moment things are tough. It has been raining non stop in the city of roses , making it very difficult for hubby to get any money in. She cleans peoples homes for money but has also not had any work to do. Please if anyone can contribute in any way towards them it will be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone – I visited Leigh and the team this weekend on the farm project. They are doing an unbelievable job, things are starting to take shape slowly. However, as with every big project like this one, there are some challenges, many due the climate of South Africa. Please, please does anyone have a gas fridge/freezer which can be donated to the project as they are not able to run the generator 24hours a day to keep things cool. This means that they can only eat canned or dried goods, it would be absolutely awesome if they could get a gas fridge to keep their food cool. I am sure someone on this page has one stacked somewhere. Please look into your hearts and lets’ find one for them, remember this is in order for us to reach our bigger goal of helping families. If you do not have one to donate then please consider donating some funds with the description of ‘GASFRIDGE’ on the deposit. Thank you people – and remember every time you have some ice cold water to drink – Leigh and the team are sweating away in the sweltering heat with no such luxury. May you all have a fantastic week.

Hi everyone. We are asking your help. We need to get a TLB to dig the hole for the Septic tank and clear a 2 hectare land and dig the lines for the water pypes. The two men cannot dig and clear the land by them selves it is going to take weeks to do. With a TLB it is a day or two. I have been calling, begging and pleaded but we are not finding anyone that can assist us. The land is just past the Rooiwal power station and past Pyramid in Grootvlei. If there is anyone who has a contact or is willing to help us please contact me Leigh on 0727388101. Thank you xx

Next is the water tank. They will plant the poles and build a stand for the tank. Cannot wait to have running water! We are only 3 people working but we are making progress. Thank you everyone for your continued support. Please don't forget to donate. Without you we cannot continue the work. Sending love to you all. Leigh xx
