A closer look into a lesser-known side of South Africa brings to light the rising poverty levels within the white townships. Hidden from the mainstream media narrative, these communities, filled with individuals eager to work but denied access due to existing political and economic structures, find solace in the Family Relief Project. Nou is ek onseker… -------------------------------------------------------------------------- My testimony My children were lost, broken and devastated, and had the privilege of being taken in by Leigh and Marius. Counseling began immediately, after their baby boy died at 27 days old, due to hospital negligence. My son and his wife lost their jobs during the Covid lockdown... After almost 4 months, my son got a job, and when I went to pick up my children for their new beginning, it was definitely not the same broken two people I dropped off. People flocked together and greeted them, all excited, My children beamed, while also shedding a tear. Their other Mom and Dad, Leigh and Marius, stayed behind. No... but No THANK YOU, can describe how grateful I am to these people... The perception of a camp or shelter has been so distorted by the evildoers. This is not just a camp or shelter, it is a soul’s hospital! In the dining hall I meet her, a big smile greets me. And I see it, the concern is hidden deep in her face. Now I'm unsure… The children often tell me how the whole group of people are taken out for ice cream, so things are going well on the farm. Then I realized, the donations are not as big and regular as for other camps or shelters and these two people's pockets are also just THAT deep. I don't talk politics, but I see how the choice can harm people. I pray that the Afrikaner notices these people, and helps to pick up our people. LEIGH and MARIUS...- I salute YOU!
